Getting Hosted:
"What to look out for?"
As more and
more webhosts emerge, it has become increasingly difficult to differentiate
the true hosts from the scams. A webhost can promise you the sky, but
are they able to fufill that promise?
Getting hosted is similar to renting a house. You want to make sure
that you get what you are promised. However, unlike renting a house,
it is not easy to find out if you have been short changed until you
have moved in.
Fortunately,
there are certain tell-tale signs of fly-by-operations that you can
look out for before you get hosted.
1. Scammers are only after one thing. Your money. Their only aim is
to get as many clients as possible, collect as much cash as they can,
and then make a fast exit. After that they will probably shut down their
site and open a new one under a different name and the cycle starts
all over again.
These scammers do not invest any time or effort in getting their site
professionally designed. They don't need to. They attract people with
ridiculously low pricing promising whatever it takes to achieve their
aims.
2. Accountability. Many of these sites uses free third party payment
systems so that they hope they can get the money transferred to them
fast and with minimal verification of their personal details. And again,
free payment systems mean that they scam more money with minimal capital
outlay.
3. Last but
not least, trust your instincts. If anything seems too good to be true,
it probably is.
Good luck on
your search for a web host!
